It's Been a While!

Sorry it's been so long.  I don't know how we cram so much into 24 hours, honestly.  Life is so busy.  But, I have a moment right now.  All kids are in bed and Adam's at work, so I feel like I can waste my time on the internet. :-)

I'm not sure I've ever mentioned that I am a Starbuholic.  My dear friend Breann introduced me to their frappuccinos and have been hooked since.  If you don't go to Starbucks often, you should know that frappuccinos are about $5 each.  And I was going at least 3 times a week.  I began noticing my waist line was increasing and our bank account decreasing.  So, at the end of 2010 I decided to stop going.  forever.  I have to cut it off cold turkey or I'll never stop.  I'm following the 12 steps from overeaters annonomous. :-)

The 12 Steps of Overeaters Anonymous
  1. We admitted we were powerless over food — that our lives had become unmanageable.
  2. Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.
  3. Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him.
  4. Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.
  5. Admitted to God, to ourselves and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs.
  6. Were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character.
  7. Humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings.
  8. Made a list of all persons we had harmed and became willing to make amends to them all.
  9. Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.
  10. Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong, promptly admitted it.
  11. Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out.
  12. Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these Steps, we tried to carry this message to compulsive overeaters and to practice these principles in all our affairs.

So add that one to my new years resolutions, too.  So far, I'm doing really well with them all.  Not getting my cardio as often as I'd like, but I'm getting more than before, so that's good.

Goodbye Caramel Brule Frappuccino.  You are greatly missed...
